Tacos

Posted by Robert & Tara on June 21st, 2008

The kids decided we should have tacos for dinner.  I browned up the meat and they did the rest of the preparations.  They even set the table.  (Go ahead, gasp.  I did!)

NOTE:  I guess spaghetti sauce could be mistaken for salsa.  And sauerkraut, sour cream…at least they sound similar.  I have no explanation for the blueberries.

It was brought to my attention by my friend, Lori, that I haven’t been around in a while.  So, here I am!  Where have I been anyway?

Towards the end of May, we had a blast at the Great Wolf Lodge just north of here.  We only stayed for one night and anticipate going again in the near future.  We have never spent so much time in the water but it was worth every minute!

I have spent some time over on Facebook connecting with friends that I’ve lost touch with for over 15 years.  I’ve had so much fun catching up!

Our last soccer games were last Saturday.  The boys had a fantastic season!  In July, they will be participating in a Soccer Jamboree and then start up with Fall soccer sometime in August.

This past Wednesday marked the last day of school.  I officially have a 3rd Grader and a 1st Grader.   The boys were home from school for all of 2 hours before they became “bored” and started bickering at each other.  Oh children, you don’t know boredom, give it another week!  In addition, my refusal to buy cheap plastic toys at the grocery store and the scolding for running in the parking lot resulted in me “never letting them have any fun.”  It’s going to be a loooonnnngggg summer.

It was a pleasant FIVE minutes…

A Grand Day

Posted by Robert & Tara on May 12th, 2008

I couldn’t have asked for anything more this Mother’s Day…well, maybe but it was a glorious day!  I rejoyced in sleeping in until after 9:30 in the morning and the rugrats were quiet as ever.  I was then showered with hugs and kisses.  Then coffee from Starbucks followed by more hugs and kisses.  Cards and laptop desk (to keep my thighs from the burning air) were given as gifts as well as flowers (and a few dandilions lions plucked from the grass that Robyn insisted I needed).  I was treated to a breakfast feast of pancakes, bacon and strawberries to compliment my Starbucks Mocha.

I then was instructed to sit back with my laptop, newspaper or whatever.  So, I did as I was told and kept my laughter to myself as (what would’ve taken me about 15 minutes) my loving husband tended the kitchen clean up…for almost an hour.  He grumbled and added a few *&!@ words (something about “not used to doing this”).  I admired his determination.

I spent the remainder of the day basically doing nothing.  And didn’t feel the slight bit of guilt.

Happy Mother’s Day!

In the midst of establishing myself as an honest seller on eBay and running my kids here and there I seem to have abandoned my blog.

We are in midst of prepping for a drive to Boise next weekend for Ty’s (Rob’s brother) college graduation.  We’re looking forward to spending the time with family as well as escaping our routine weekend.

Three days after we return, we are headed to Great Wolf Lodge just north of here for some fun with our neighbors.  We are totally excited about our upcoming adventures and a much needed break!
