    Current Mood:Sickly emoticon Sickly

I’ve had the pleasure of starting my new year with a cold; a most unpleasant way to begin 2009.

We are on day two of slowly settling back into routine after a long winter’s break in which the kids were needing to get back to school.  They claim to be less than thrilled however, I know they are much happier to be amongst their friends than under the constant thumb of mom!

Robyn’s 4th birthday began with snow flurries in and around our neighborhood.  All three kids rushed outside in their pajamas and snow boots to feel the falling snow melt on their tongues.  Our little one is turning into a “big girl” especially now that she has a big girl bike.  She’s been riding around the house for last four hours and when she does get off, she parks it right next to wherever she’s going.

    They grow so fast.

I’m a tad tired today.  Robert got up yesterday at 4am to fly to Los Angeles for his annual drinking bash company Christmas party.  I don’t think I ever really fell back asleep.  We were up early this morning to attend the “Breakfast with Santa” event at school.  We enjoyed some pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs before listening to the Peppermint Choir sing their holiday songs.  A few crafts and to top it off, a visit to Santa.

We had the neighbor girls over for a bit before running some errands I needed to do in preparation for Robyn’s birthday party tomorrow.  We’re now trying to settle down to some popcorn and “Horton Hears a Who“.

Has it really been over a month since I’ve made a post?  Apparently so and I apologize.  I don’t know where the time goes anymore.

Here’s a brief run-down of November to the current:

November passed before I could even blink.  We wrapped up the Fall soccer season in late November with both of the boys having a fantastic season.  Thanksgiving was spent with close friends and lots of scrumptuous food.

The same weekend we hosted a sleepover, a few days early, to celebrate Zachary’s 9th birthday (crazy, I know!).

During the remainder of our long weekend, we decorated the interior and exterior of the house in preparation of the holidays.  This year, our outdoor decor does more than light up the neighborhood.  Since the kids informed me that I didn’t do a good job at Halloween decorating, we more than made up for it this December!

Also in November, Robyn officially began Taekwondo, following in the footsteps of her brothers.  She is enthusiastic and is already showing her potential.

December is always a trying month for me.  With three birthdays plus the holidays, it definitely tests my sanity.  Zachary has been participating in the Peppermint Choir at school which requires us to waken a little earlier than we’d like twice a week.  Thankfully, it’s only until Christmas break!  Both boys recently received their report cards and both are excelling for their respective grade levels.  Both are above average in math and reading.  Robyn loves pre-school and is gravely disappointed on the days she doesn’t attend.

That’s a quick run down of our household at the moment.  I will attempt to pay better attention to my neglected blog!
